I think people who confuse there, they’re and their understand the different meanings of these words, but have a memory block about them. If you are one of these people, I think you just need to work out a memory jogger to distinguish them. For example, ‘r’ for there and ‘i’ for own.

there = in that place
they’re = short for ‘they are’
their = belonging to them
